really come down. you can see 60 around kansas city but only 52 degrees in minneapolis. all the while we keep it relatively mild along the northeast coast. 71 in new york, 80 in d.c. and 82 degrees in atlanta, georgia. but eventually the cold front reaches all the way into the south, including northern texas. we call it the blue norther as that northerly wind takes hold and temperatures will be much much cooler in dallas coming up this weekend. we've got the texas state fair going on there as well. scattered showers from kansas city to st. louis, over towards indianapolis and the eastern lakes around buffalo and pittsburgh we could find scattered showers, along with that cooler temperatures. highs on friday chicago after being in the 70s on thursday only going to be 59 degrees on friday. still out ahead of that front, though, south of the front we are really toasty. 84 in atlanta, 86 in new orleans, 89 in houston with still a touch of humidity in the air as well. eventually the cold front comes down through the tennessee valley bringing with it chance for showers on saturday affecting so

expecting the showers to kind of hold off away from new york city until the evening up to boston it should be dry along this i-95 stretch. main moves into the interior northeast. back across the southern plains. we'll even get a little bit of rain. and the snow will still be flying across parts of colorado front range here into the eastern plains that's where most of the snow will accumulate across parts of wyoming and nebraska. cold enough for snow. we've already had the first snow of the season across several of our northern states. 50 in minneapolis for the high, 49 in billings later today. the blue on the map indicates the coldest air. meanwhile look how warm it is across the southeast. phoenix at 94. once the cold front moves all the way across the eastern seaboard temperatures cool off sunday. more rain moves into the mid-atlantic and northeast. new york city into the 50s with cool rain for sunday. that's the worst day of the weekend or the best day of the weekend however you want to look at it. a lot of people will be on the couch watching football. 52 in chicago. 67 in atlan

shelter dogs. >> good morning. i am stan stovall. a motion to require restaurants in baltimore city to post a health department grades has the full support of the baltimore city council did in hearing wednesday night, councilman brandon scott said it was unacceptable that patrons could not get the information without contacting the health department. some merchants opposed the decision, saying the current system does not need to be changed. >> brand new accident in for motorists on southbound 895. vehicle spun out. it may be awhile before they are able to clear its. heavy delays on southbound 795 just past owings mills. disabled vehicle, backed out prior to owings mills on the beltway. delays from 795 to keith ave and new vail street. another problem is fire department activity. a southbound 95 out of the northeast, looking at delay from the 895 split. 795 is looking at a backup for perching owings mills all the way towards the beltway to to the disabled vehicle, and also just volume. this is inching along on the west side. tony, over to you. >> we have some light rain to contend with

war-torn city of aleppo where there is a decisive battle on multiple fronts. at a border crossing from turkey, we walk toward syria. it's pretty calm, actually. but we understand there was an attack four miles from the border and six were killed. and we drove into what is known as free syria and they clearly want it know, they're in charge. but the hold is fragile so we're careful not to make wrong turns. you're saying this is the way you're going to run into the syrian army? >> yes. >> reporter: a government soldier who switched sides drives us on the safest route in, past bombed-out buildings in one town after another, including azaz, now nicknamed the graveyard of tanks. for miles in this northern pocket of territory, checkpoints are controlled by the free syrian army. we saw long bread lines with children. refugees escaping in trucks. and three miles from the embattled city of aleppo, smoke rising from a recent air strike. aleppo is now nearly in ruins as the battle rages on multiple fronts. this listed as a world heritage site burned out of control over the weekend. ahmad ass

, including tulsa and oklahoma city. it is going to be a chilly day. that cold front sags even farther to the south. saturday a completely different day in dallas. if you see temperature readings in the afternoon today in dallas into the lower 80s, that is going to be a thing of the past. because by saturday these daytime highs only in the 50s. so this is going to be a noticeable change for you this weekend throughout parts of the lone star state. still very cold throughout parts of colorado into wyoming. and into the northern tier here with daytime highs only into the 40s. saturday not looking like too bad of a day there throughout parts of the northeast. we're going to have a better chance for some showers on sunday for the northeast as that low starts to push off. and it's going to be much cooler. instead of the 70s, that cool air does make it to you. and you'll have the daytime highs only into the lower mid and upper 50s. so it will be in the 50s and much cooler. on monday things start to quiet down a little bit. things calming down. and daytime highs gradually warming back up. so mod
